Hillside homes and a marina full of boats on a sunny Bay Area waterfront

Our Firm

Built On The Water. Run On Accountability.

Harborstone Management is a boutique Bay Area firm managing community associations the way board members would manage them themselves — if they had the time, the systems, and the bench.

Our Story

Started Because Boards Deserved Better.

Harborstone began in a Sausalito office with a simple observation: the boards and owners who needed the most help were getting the least attention. Portfolios had grown, service had thinned, and the phone had stopped getting answered.

So we built the opposite. A firm with intentionally limited growth, where each manager carries a portfolio small enough to know every building by name. Where financials are clean enough to read in a board meeting without a translator. Where a board president can call their manager and hear someone who already knows what's going on.

Years later, that's still the whole idea. Better management creates better communities.

“We would rather be excellent for 100 communities than average for a thousand.”

What We Stand For

Four Values, Practiced Daily

◆

Responsiveness

We answer. A real person, with real context, on the first call. Our business depends on it and so does yours.

Transparency

Every dollar documented, every fee disclosed up front, every decision explained. Nothing hidden behind a line item.

Stewardship

We treat reserves and buildings as if we owned them. Proactive care is always cheaper than emergency repair.

Partnership

Boards are volunteers. Our job is to make their service sustainable, informed, and genuinely satisfying.

Beyond The Contract

Communities Are More Than Buildings.

We sponsor shoreline cleanups, host annual board education sessions, and support the local emergency-preparedness groups that matter in fire country and flood zones. Our team lives here — our kids go to school here. That's not a marketing line; it's why we answer the phone.

  • Annual board education workshops (no charge, open to all clients)
  • Wildfire and flood preparedness coordination for at-risk communities
  • Bay shoreline and open-space volunteer days
